There is confusion and anarchy at the Political Parties Disputes Tribunal. According to sources close to Chief Justice David Maraga, the entire administrative staff has been sent home or transferred while the commissioners have been referred back to JSC for disciplinary measures.
The problems at the PPDT are said to have been brought by the commission members led by the Chairman Kyalo Mbobu who received money from politicians during the nominations to alter judgments at night.
PPDT Commission members;
- Mr. Kyalo Mbobu(Chairperson)
- Mr. Paul Ngotho (Member)
- Mrs. Milly Lwanga Odongo
- Dr. (Mrs.) Adelaide MbaikaMbithi
- Ms. Desma Nungo
- Mr. Hassan Abdi
- Mrs. Tryphaena Nabakwe Estambale
Most of the chaos and confusions witnessed in the political parties nominations are said to be as a result of greed by the tribunal members who demanded between Ksh 1 million to Ksh 5 million to alter judgement or rule in favour of the bribery giver.
A total of 12 administrative staff members have also been either sent home or sacked after being found culpable.
The tribunal commission members have been referred to JSC which is currently in the United Kingdom for official business. It is not clear what the entire JSC team is doing in UK.
Meanwhile, the Judiciary is currently conducting an audit through a company called Orion Consultants to unearth the number of staff who have fake academic credentials. The review targets at least 500 staff members.
