A Citi Hoppa bus was carjacked by four thugs along Mombasa Road.
The gang took control of the bus that was headed to Pipeline area and stole from the unsuspecting passengers.
They then abandoned the bus in a dark alley along Outering Road. Witnesses say that a passenger asked for the bus to alight at Sameer Park where three other people forced their way into the bus.
The thugs, now on board, demanded that the bus take a different route. The driver is said to have driven towards Enterprise Road, Jogoo Road and then Outering Road where the four alighted and made away with the passengers’ goods and valuables.
The driver and conductor are in police custody.
“They are under interrogation as we pursue the gang behind the incident,” Buruburu Police boss, Geoffrey Maiyek said.
They stole valuables worth Sh200,000 and at least 43 mobile phones.

In January, a Double M bus was commandeered by a gun-brandishing gang before being taken through three hours of terror and torture and later dumped in Kariobangi Estate.
The victims, who included People Daily Editor Derek Otieno and Kenya international boxer Nick Abaka were taken through the terror period as the gang took phones, cash, wallets and even clothes.
Police have however noted that carjacking cases have reduced over time.
