Former Minister, Chirau Ali Makwere arrived at the EACC offices shortly after NLC Chairman, Muhammed Swazuri was arrested to show solidarity to his fellow clansmen.

The minister was at first denied entry and was forced to wait outside with the journalists present.

He shared that he was only there to know about the circumstances surrounding Swazuri’s arrest as they both hail from Kwale County.

“I am a Kenyan, if any Kenyan has a problem, it is my right to know what the problem is. I come from Kwale, if anybody from Kwale has a problem, I need to know what that problem is. I am a Digo from Kwale, if a Digo has any problem, I need to know what that problem is because I belong to that community. I have to try and rescue him.” Makwere said.
