Majid Al Futtaim, Carrefour franchaise holder will by the end of the year 2018 have set up Kenya’s first Carrefour Market after signing a deal with the management of the Village Market.
The market operates with a different format compared to a hypermarket, focusing largely on a wide range of food items over non-food items.
The Country Manager, Franck Moreau points out that the Carrefour Market will allow them serve their customers better by offering them a store that will cater for their everyday shopping needs.
“We will be embarking on construction work in May where the Carrefour Market will be located, and this will be followed by the installation of equipment and the relevant fit out to suit Carrefour’s international standards. When open, we assure customers of our sustained commitment to offer an unbeatable shopping experience and great moments for everyone, every day,” Moreau said.

Majid Al Futtaim first set up shop in Kenya in 2009, and has since grown to become a popular sub-brand that specializes in offering fresh produce and local products at attractive prices.
The Carrefour Market once opened will be the company’s sixth store in the country. Other stores are at; Two Rivers Mall, Thika Road Mall, The Junction, Sarit Centre and The Hub Karen.
