Chris Kirubi owned Capital FM has again sent home Head of Sales Florence Njeri Maina over the fraud which was being executed in collusion with the sacked CEO, Cyrus Kamau.

According to those in the know, the fraud came to light when the Capital FM team demanded some pending payments from Nairobi Hospital who insisted that they had already cleared their bills. Capital FM insisted that the account was not settled and so demanded a reconciliation meeting.

Capital FM discovered that payments were made by Nairobi Hospital but cheque not deposited into the main Capital FM Group accounts. That’s when Florence Njeri Maina was pushed to name where the cheque was deposited. It was discovered to have been deposited into an account which was in the name of the company but the latter was not aware that it existed.

Chris Kirubi’s daughter led the supervision of the audit which uncovered massive fraud. Florence personally stole more than Ksh 18 million. While the company initially agreed to let her stay because she snitched on Cyrus Kamau, it was resolved that there was no was she could stay and work without a salary while paying the debt.

She was sacked like her accomplice in the scheme.
