Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau Condoles With Kenya After Ethiopian Airline Crash

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau called President Uhuru Kenyatta to condole with him after 36 Kenyans died after the Ethiopian Airlines crash.

The Canadian Prime minister also told his Kenyan counterpart that Canada would help with the investigations to find out what caused the crash. He also urged president Kenyatta to share information.

18 Canadians were also killed in the crash which happened a few minutes after it had taken off .

So far the Boeing 737 Max 8 airplane make have been downed to investigate the cause of the crash.

The plane is said to be four months old since it was delivered to the Airline.

According to a statement from the Airline, the accident happened around Bishoftu (Debre Zeit) at around 8.44 local time when it lost contact.

“Ethiopia Airlines regrets to confirm that its flight ET 302/10 March in schedule service from Addis Ababa to Nairobi was involved in an accident today around Bishoftu (Debre Zeit) . The aircraft B-737-800 Max with registration number ET-AVJ took off at 08.38am local time from Addis Ababa, Bole International Airport and lost contact at 08.44am,” read the statement in part.

It is believed that 149 passengers and 8 crew members were on board. No casualties or survivors have been confirmed so far.
