The Kenya Power Managing Director, Ken Tarus has been suspended following recommendations by the Director of Public Prosecution, Noordin Haji for the suspects to be prosecuted.
Mr Tarus surrendered himself to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations Office on Sunday evening and was held at Muthaiga Police Station together with other suspects.
The Board convened a crisis meeting on Monday morning to discuss the way forward after the indictment of almost the whole senior management team.
In an interview with one of the dailies, Board chairman Maalim Mahboub, stated that all suspects are still considered innocent until proven guilty and added that they will name people in acting positions as they await for the cases to take course.

The Board does however wish to inform all stakeholders that they have put in place a continuity strategy and business will continue as usual.
“The board wishes to reassure members of the public, customers, shareholders, development partners and other stakeholders that operations of the business have not and will not be affected,” Mahboub said in a statement.
