President Uhuru Appoints Ex-IG Boinnet As CAS Ministry of Tourism

President Uhuru Kenyatta has appointed retired Inspector General of Police Joseph Boinnet as Chief Administrative Secretary (CAS), Ministry of Tourism and Wildlife.

Taking his place at the helm of the National Police Service is Hillary Mutyambai who is currently the deputy director of National Counter-Terrorism centre.

Boinnet’s four year stint came to an end on Monday with him listing a number of achievements.

Taking to Twitter, the ex-IG noted that it was under his watch that the service was able to be given enough tools of work that have gone a long way in making the operations of the police easier.

For instance, he has attributed the quick response of officers in emergency situations through the motor vehicle leasing programme as part of the tools allocated to the service.

Through Executive Order No.4 of 2019, the head of state also appointed Brig. Vincent Naisho Loonena as the Director General of the Kenya Coast Guard Service and Brig. John Migui Waweru as the Director General of the Kenya Wildlife Service.

Wycliffe Ogalo has also been appointed as the Commissioner General, Kenya Prisons Service.

President Kenyatta also appointed Eliud Ndung’u Kinuthia as the NPS chairperson with five other members.

They are: Lilian Mutio Kiamba, Eusebius Karuti Laibuta, Naphtaly Kipchirchir Rono, Dr Alice Atieno and John Tentemo Ole Moyaki.
