
Tourism CS Najib Balala has fired the Kenya wildlife service director general Dr Julius Kimani and replaced him with Dr Charles Musyoki who was in charge of Kenya Wildlife Service training institute in Naivasha.

He was fired after 10 out of the 11 rhinos that were translocated from Nakuru and Nairobi national parks to a 100-square kilometre sanctuary at Tsavo East died. The latest death occurred today.
CS Balala also suspended six top KWS officials even abolishing the post of Chief operating officer and the post of advisor which were held by Nehemiah Rotich and Mark Jenkins respectively.
The rhinos which were translocated in a high profile ceremony died from what KWS officials said was as a result of drinking saline water.
The other officers who have been suspended include; Dr Samwel Kafiki who was the Deputy Director Bio-diversity.
Dr Francis Gakuya who was head of veterinary services, Dr Mohamed Omar, head of ecology, Dr Isaac Lekolool, a senior vet.
