Tourism CS Najib Balala has apologized to Kenyans over the emotional “go to hell” remarks that he made on Monday while in Mombasa.
Balala who has been on the spot over the death of 11 rhinos that were translocated to the Tsavo East National Park, has expressed regret for dragging his boss’ name; President Uhuru Kenyatta into the “go to hell” rant.
“I regret I did that outburst, it was out of pain that I am being let down by my system,” the CS told the Parliamentary committee on Environment and Natural Resources on Tuesday.
“I do regret dragging the president’s name.”
The CS was in the coastal county at the Mombasa Governor Ali Hassan Joho’s office alongside the Environment CS Keriako Tobiko.
Kenyans have been calling for his resignation as the rhinos died out of negligence.

But the seasoned politician dismissed the naysayers asking them to go to hell as only the President can fire him.
“In my leadership, I decided that I am going to be right and not nice. On the issue of rhinos, I am going to stand with what is right. Nobody has appointed me; it is President Uhuru Kenyatta who appointed me, so they can go to hell. I can tell them that,” he said.
