Kenya Electricity Generating Company (KenGen) has awarded a multibillion contract for the rehabilitation of Kenya’s oldest geothermal power plant aiming to increase its output from 45MW to 63MW in a move to accelerate the country’s transition to green energy. Police are investigating an incident in which a suspect armed with an axe raided a house and hacked a man before raping a woman in a village in Murang’a County. Detectives are investigating the murder of a 67-year-old man whose body was found hanging on a tree in Sengera village, Nyamira County. The body was found hanging on a tree tied with a sisal rope. Police officers who visited the scene found the body of Wilson Mangeria tied with a sisal rope around his neck, covered with cloves. At least 11 students were Monday killed in an accident involving a bus belonging to Kenyatta University at Voi along Mombasa highway. The bus was carrying about 60 students when it it collided with a truck at Maungu Police said 42 students are admitted to various hospitals with injuries.
