The man allegedly identified as the Utalii ward MCA Wilson Ochola  is heard admitting that he received the money that he had not worked for, yet as an MCA he should be fighting corruption.

Sisi as Members of the County Assembly we are fighting corruption…na tulishtuka sana kupewa 1 million yenye hatujafanyia kazi….hata nikajiuliza this one million is for what? (We as Members of the County Assemby are fighting corruption… Yet we were so much surprised to receive Ksh1 million we have not worked for… I even asked myself ‘what is it for?’)”

The legislator is also heard complaining saying that the money had reduced from Ksh10 million he was expecting. The money allegedly came from Mombasa.

“After investigation we found out that this money was Ksh10 million and the money that was brought to Mombasa was Ksh5 million…..and instead of Ksh5 million, we were given one million…….”

“The rest of the money iko wapi……..Ikiharibika imeharibika….Sisi wote tulipata kitu….They gave one of our members one million kwa choo akatuletea…. (Where is the rest of the money? If it’s bad it’s bad (sic)…. We all got something… They gave one of our members one million in the latrine to bring us….)” the MCA is heard saying.

The MCA admitted that all the members of the committee got something and that their mission was to doctor a report. The minority chief whip  was heard condemning the county government on matters corruption yet he was among the members of the labour commitee receiving the bribe.
