A warrant of arrest has been issued against Embakasi East MP, Paul Ongili aka Babu Owino and his bodyguard, Fanuel Owino for skipping court.

The two did not appear in court for a case where they were accused of assaulting a Fortis Parking attendant on January 11, 2018.

Babu and his bodyguard were caught on tape harassing the attendant, David Gichagu but denied the charges before Chief Magistrate Francis Andayi, on January 22.

The legislator was also charged with creating disturbance and use of abusive language.

But the first time MP is awaiting a ruling on an application seeking scrutiny and recount of votes cast on August 8, 2017 in his Constituency.

The petitioner, Francis Mureithi argued that there were various sets of results in the forms and the only way to determine the winner was through a vote recount.
