Kandara MP, Alice Wahome has been called in for questioning by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) for assaulting an IEBC official on Friday.

Ms Wahome has been asked to appear before the DCIO Kandara on Monday.

The legislator is said to have assaulted the Kandara returning officer, Martin Malonza over changes to form 34B.

IEBC called for the MP’s arrest for harassing ‘an IEBC official performing his duties.’

“We take great exception to the manner in which harassed an IEBC official performing his duties. Such is an electoral offense that must be punished,” the commission said in a statement.

Wahome alleged that the returning officer did not give Jubilee agents time to corroborate the results on form 34B.

“I also asked Malonza to give us more time to agree on what to do about the wrong entry but he flatly refused and became loud and uncooperative without regarding the agents.”
