One of the suspects in the case where Garissa Governor Ali Korane is to be charged with attempted murder has reportedly committed suicide inside Parklands Police Station.
According to sources within the National Police Service, David Mwai Wanjiru aka Mwas reportedly hanged himself in the cells around midnight.

David Mwai was one of the three suspects who were facing attempted murder charges after shooting former-CEC Finance in Garissa County and leaving him for dead. They were reportedly hired by current governor Ali Korane.
Police has reviewed CCTV footage and followed vital clues which clearly points to Governor Ali Korane as the financier of the attempted murder. The victim of the attack, Idris Mukhtar is still fighting for his life at one of the local hospitals.
Governor Ali Korane was recently arrested in connection to the attempted murder and is expected to be charged soon.
David Mwai confessed to the police detailing how he was hired and directed to kill Idriss Mukhtar. Police recovered part of the money paid to David and others to kill Idriss Mukhtar and lawyer Charles Kanjama.
