Gor Mahia on the other hand eased past Posta Rangers 3-1 to make the round of eight of the Kenya’s oldest cup competition.
Both ties were staged at the Moi International Sports Center Kasarani on Wednesday.
Mwatate took a shock lead through John Musyoka in the 8th minute and Ingwe had to wait for second half substitute Eugene Mukangula to restore order.

Former Gor striker Paul Odhiambo, who came on a substitute pulled one back for the mailmen in the 63rd minute but, Samuel Onyango restored the two-goal cushion in the 71st minute.
Kerr largely deployed his reserve team in the game, once again proving the depth he enjoys in his squad this season.
AFC Leopards will face Kenya Police while, Gor Mahia will face Kariobangi Sharks in the quarters.
