Activist Okiya Omtatah has moved to court to stop the nomination of the chief assistant secretary and permanent secretary positions saying that the the nominees were handpicked rather than recommended by the public service commission.
He also argued that the decision to have the new position of the chief administrative secretary was reached without public participation.

According to the activist the positions for the PS and CAS were to be advertised, candidates interviewed before being announced and that this procedure was not followed.
The leader of majority has however refuted the claims of lack of procedure as he claims the selection was done in consultation with the PSC.
