Olare Secondary School Principal Rose Adiambo is on the spot for allegedly embezzling funds meant for construction of school dormitory.
According to sources within, the school had a fundraiser totaling to Ksh11 million graced by CS Fred Matiang’i last year.
However, the project was not to see the light of the day at the construction of the said building has stalled due to poor quality and is set to be demolished.
The principal, according to evidence in our possession, has been doing direct transfer to her personal account from school account.
When stakeholders met the Boar of Management (BoM), the chairman, who is said to be part of the scandal, mobilized youths to interrupt the meeting that was organized due to community pressure.
“We also received a threat SMS on Thursday that the meeting was to take place on 16th of May,” says one of the stakeholders.
The BoM chair, Eng Dan Waziri, is a rich man in the community and claims to be untouchable.
This desk learns that the principal and the BoM chair did a ‘proxy’ tendering, where the constructor is not the person awarded the tender.
The Management claims that the structure has already consumed Ksh3 million already, but will be demolished due to poor quality, without any plans to recover lost money.
The construction went on despite several visits by the BoM, whose chair and vice-chair are said to be engineers.
