Police Constable Arrested For Demanding Sh25,000 Bribe For Undisclosed Offence

A police constable based in Kitengela has been arrested within Embakasi for demanding money from an unidentified man within Kasarani area.

The officer who has been identified as Steve Omondi is said to have obtained a Sh25,000 bribe through intimidation.

Omondi arrested the man for an undisclosed offence. The bribe was meant to help secure his release.

According to the DCI, a motor vehicle, Toyota Mark II has been detained.

“Steve Omondi,a Police Constable based in Kitengela has been arrested within Embakasi for demanding money with menaces.The suspect arrested a Man for undisclosed offence within Kasarani area and demanded for Ksh.25,000 to secure his release. Motor vehicle(Toyota Mark II) detained.,” DCI said in a tweet.
