A senior DCI officer on Thursday morning shot a junior officer attached to the Thindigua Police Station under unclear circumstances.
Chief Inspector Duncan Maina of DCI headquarters shot at close range Evanson Kipngetich Busienei as he walked back to Thindigua Police Station a few minutes past midnight.
According to a police report, Busienei in the company of another man walked up to CI Maina and demanded that he hands over the car that he was driving (Registration Number KAU 429U).
The two officers then got into an argument with Maina threatening to shoot the deceased, who dared him to. A riled Busienei walked towards Maina who alighted and continuously shot at him.
The four escaped unhurt. The driver of the Land Rover reported the matter at Kiambu Police Station. The rear screen had been smashed.

The deceased’s remains were taken to Kenyatta University mortuary. It was found that his body had two exit wounds on the back and two gun wounds at the chin.
Four cartridges of 9 mm were collected at the scene.
For exhibits, officers collected a czeska (Serial Number KP 315622) with one round in the chamber, two magazines of (1) 14 rounds and (2)5 rounds of 9mm respectively and a scorpion Sub-Machine gun (Serial Number KP C181213) with a magazine of 30 rounds from CI Maina.
