Gor Mahia Caf Champions League opponents Nyasa Big Bullets of Malawi will play Tanzanian giants Simba SC in an international friendly on Friday in Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania.
Nyasa, who are fresh from winning the Malawian Super League for the second time on the bounce with five matches to spare will use the build up to sharpen ahead of the 2018-19 CAF Champions League season.
The “People’s Team” will face Kenyan champions Gor Mahia in the preliminary round of the championship with the first leg scheduled for 27/28 November 2018 in Nairobi.
The winner of the two-legged encounter will face either Lobi Stars of Nigeria or UMS de Loum of Cameroon for a spot in the lucrative group phase of the tournament.
Simba on the other hand are the Tanzania’s representative in the Africa’s premium club championship and will take on Mbabane Swallows of eSwatini with the winner facing Nkana FC of Zambia or Moazambique’s UD Songo in the first round.
Meanwhile, Gor are expected to resume preseason Wednesday. The team returned in the country over the weekend after a week in the UK where they played Everton in a high profile friendly at Goodison Park.
Gor played in this year’s CAF Confederation Cup group stage, missing the knockout stage by a whisker and will be hoping to do better this season by making the round of sixteen of the Champions League.
