Migori Governor Okoth Obado has finally been released after securing KSh5 million cash bail and two sureties of the same amount.

The Governor was forced to spend one more night at the Industrial Area remand prison after the DCI failed to clear his sureties.

Obado had presented Toyota Prado and Toyota Land Cruiser V8 as sureties but one of them failed to clear.

Justice Lessit allowed the Migori Governor to be released on a cash bail of KSh5million on the grounds that the evidence against him was circumstantial and not enough to deny him bail.

He was ordered to surrender his passport at the DCI and given a condition that he should not skip any court session as his bail could be cancelled at any time.

Obado was warned against communicating with the parents, siblings or rather any close relative the deceased Sharon Otieno whether directly or through a proxy.
