Another suspect believed to have been involved in the murder of 28 year old Monica Nyawira Kimani is in Mombasa seeking “cleansing” from witch doctors.
The man was caught in camera riding in Jacque Maribe’s car in the company of her fiance Joe “Jowie” Irungu on the night Ms Kimani was killed.
The mystery man, police believe has crucial information that will help in solving the murder case.
DCI officers have been in Mombasa for the past couple of days as they follow leads that could lead to the arrest of the man.
“Preliminary investigations have established that Irungu was seen in the company of another person near the crime scene. The identity of the person seen with Irungu has yet to be established but the investigating team is following leads,” police have said in an affidavit.
They are looking for Ms Kimani’s house keys, car keys, the murder weapon and luggage that she flew in with from Juba.
Kimani was found dead in her Lamuria Gardens A8 Apartment on September 20 with her mouth taped, hands and legs tied and her neck slit.
Maribe and Jowie will on Monday take pleas to murder charges but are in the meantime in remand at the Lang’ata Women’s Prison and Industrial Area Prison respectively.
