Sebastien Migne Irked That Cameroon Were Granted Preference Over Harambee Stars At Kasarani

Despite guiding Harambee Stars to a historic win over Ghana Saturday, coach Sebastien Migne is not a happy man.

Migne is displeased that the management at Kasarani Stadium granted training opportunity to Cameroon’s Indomitable Lions as they “struggled” at Kenya School of Monetary Studies.

Both teams were sharpening for the Afcon 2019 qualifiers match day two.

“It was missing of respect for this team,” the Frenchman said after the massive win that revived Kenya’s hopes of qualifying for the 2019 Afcon in Cameroon.

Since Monday, Cameroon were camping in Kenya and used Kasarani to train before leaving for Moroni to face Comoros in a match that ended in a 1-1 draw.

“When I saw Cameroon have training at this field (Kasarani) and not us, who were struggling at Monetary Studies, it was not good to work like that and especially now that we want to achieve a lot at this level.

“If you think today we beat Ghana and we are at the same level, I’m sorry, we are very far, very far away from the top level. We are very far away. I’m not a liar and I’m not happy at all,” Migne said.

Despite being reduced to ten men in the second half, Harambee Stars held on to a first half own goal to bag the maximum points.

Stars next signed will be on Tuesday in a friendly against Malawi before the Afcon qualifiers resume next month with a trip to Ethiopia.
