Belgian Tom Sainfiet has been appointed as the new manager of the Gambia national team, the Scorpions, for the next nine months.

He will be presented to the media later today.

Gambia Football Federation (GFF) will pay his wages at the moment as the government puts her house in order to assume the responsibility.

The 45-year-old is experienced in African football having coached Malawi, Togo, Ethiopia and Zimbabwe before.

Outside the continent he has handled Malta, Bangladesh, Yemen and Trinidad and Tabago.

“Given his vast knowledge and experience in coaching we trust that he will help advance all aspect of Gambian football during his reign,” GFF said.

Tom hosts UEFA Pro License and can speak up-to five languages including English, Dutch, French, Spanish and German.
