Jubilee Secretary General Raphael Tuju has cancelled a Jubilee Party Parliamentary Group Meeting that was set for July, 3.

According to Tuju, he only learned about the said meeting from media reports that he says ‘have no basis.’

“After due consultations and after speaking with our Parliamentary Majority Leader Hon. Aden Duale, I am able to confirm that there will be no Jubilee Party Parliamentary Group Meeting tomorrow…,” Tuju said.

Earlier reports indicated that top of the agenda was the rift within the ruling party, reports the secretary general denies.

“I would like to assure members that there is nothing even remotely close to a crisis in the party,” he added.

He did however note that the party will announce strengthening programmes that will include the launch of a party academy.

“What we are experiencing is a storm in a tea cup. We are one party with one President and deputy but as usual, the media needs blood to sell. You people were used to fighting between Jubilee and Nasa and now that they are working together you need to get something, by all means, to report on,” Tuju added.

The party leadership; President Uhuru Kenyatta and Deputy President William Ruto, he said is focused on delivering the Big Four agenda and securing the future of Kenyans.

The ruling party will hold a retreat in the coming weeks to enable legislators better articulate the transformative agenda agenda.

Ruto’s allies have in the recent past indicated that those working to sabotage the DP are working in the Office of the President.
