The Standard Media caused an uproar online after posting an insensitive tweet of what a female Minister would carry if Kenya had a female Treasury Cabinet Secretary:
While in today’s world women are still fighting to have a seat at the table, gender equality still has a long way to go especially with some adults who hold the thought of what a “proper woman” should look or act like.
Despite underlyingly pointing out that Kenya has never had a female Treasury Cabinet Secretary since independence, the Media house was faulted for their misogynist point of example.
There’s a thousand other conversations that could come from our country having a female Treasury Cabinet Secretary but this should not be one of them!
Here are some of the reactions:
God!!!, with all the platform you have to highlight real issues, this is what you got? WOW
