Police have ordered for a male teacher from Moi Girls’ School Nairobi to take a DNA test after the report of the rape incident on Saturday showed that he could be a suspect.
The drama teacher, Robinson Mudavadi is said to have committed the crime together with two other men.
The DNA test will determine if the said teacher is guilty or not by comparing it to the evidence that was collected from the victim’s sample.
Reports indicate that the student was raped in the ablution block and she was left lying on the ground for up to 4 hours. A female teacher is reported to have told the girl to clean up and not talk about the incident in exchange of a scholarship.
The students were sent home with their parents on Sunday after they relented for the school to take action about their security and be held accountable for the incident.
Investigators from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations visited the school on Saturday and admitted that they cannot rule out the claims until their investigation proves otherwise.
Update: 5 more male teachers and 2 subordinate staff have been ordered to give their DNA samples for investigations.
