Senior Officer Dies After His Car Submerged While Crossing River In Makueni County

A Senior Officer, Commandant of the Diplomatic Police Unit, Charles Kyale Mwau and his brother died after the car they were driving was washed away by raging waters of the seasonal river Kaluku in Makueni county.

The officer is said to have tried to cross the bridge despite the water that had flooded the river.

The heavy down pour witnessed in the country seems to have paralyzed travellers in different parts of the country and caused tragic deaths in some areas, as the seasonal rivers have filled with water obstruct passenger movement.

Different officials including the Makueni County Commissioner have cautioned residents against diving or trying to wade through flooded riverbeds.
