Wycliffe Oparanya is the latest presidential candidate for the 2022 election coming from the Western region and has asked for the support of Party leader Raila Odinga.
Speaking in Kakamega, the governor said that he had already started the journey for the presidency and he would not like it to be a secret anymore.
He said that he had talked to Raila to reciprocate the support that he has accorded to him over the years. Oparanya said that his leadership was seen through his time as governor, as an Member of parliament and also as a minister for planning.
ODM secretary General said that the deputy party leader was within his right to vie for the presidency.
Governor Oparanya asked Raila Odinga to rally the Luo vote behind him.
Other candidates set to vie for presidency from the region include Amani National Congress Musalia Mudavadi and Ford Kenya’s Moses Wetangula who were both part of the NASA coalition.
