Gideon Moi, Baringo Senator is confident that President Uhuru Kenyatta will support his Presidential bid come 2022, should he decide to run.
Speaking in Rongai on Sunday, the legislator noted that when that time comes (2022) the President will ‘know what to do.’
The KANU party chairman also urged other leaders to fully support Uhuru who is at the moment ‘having a lot of issues to deal with.’
”I assure you that I do not have a problem with the President. Let us give him space because currently, he has a lot of issues. We should support him,” Mr Moi said during his brother, Raymond Moi’s homecoming in Rongai.
But Deputy President William Ruto is poised to take over from his boss come 2022 after supporting him in 2013 and 2017.
The DP, dropped hi Presidential bid in 2013 to back Kenyatta who like him was facing crimes against humanity at the International Criminal Court (ICC).
Ruto, needless to say does not get along with Gideon as he is the apparent king maker and the leader of the vote rich Rift Valley region.
The two, Ruto and Moi were in a heated exchange during the late Mark Too’s funeral.
