On January 12, then acting CS Education, Fred Matiang’i ordered for all school buses and vans be painted yellow by March 30, 2018.

In line with the Traffic (Amendment) Bill passed by the National Assembly in June, 2017, the buses will be painted yellow and the name of the institution in black. He also directed that their movement be restricted between 6am and 6pm.

According to the Bill, vehicles transporting school going children will have their speed limit fixed at 50km per hour and will be fitted with safety belts.
