National transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) has set out new guidelines for drivers following the increased number of fatalities that has been experienced in the recent past.
The divers who have been involved in accidents may be barred from driving for a period not longer than six months.
The drivers will be require to renew their licenses every year as opposed to the current regime where one could renew after three years
The divers would also have to undergo medical examination and be tested again after 10 years of driving.
The NTSA also said that divers above the age of 70 years will be required to produce a medical fitness test every year before being issued with the drivers license.
The authority has also said that those who fail their drivers exams will be sent back to driving school.
