The minor was arrested on Friday and detained at the Gatundu Police Station. The girl, Gatundu OCS, Joshua Nyasimu says, reported the incident on Sunday.
She complained that the officer had ‘had carnal knowledge of her against her will after removing her from cells to do some cleaning within the station.’
The girl was taken to Gatundu District Hospital for a medical examination, and the officer apprehended.
The officer was arraigned in court on Monday but did not take a plea as detectives asked for more time to conduct investigations.
The matter will be mentioned on Tuesday.
This comes after a 13 year old girl was raped in Murang’a police cells by Laban Maina Njoroge on September 30, 2017.
The incident was made known by an inmate, Jeff Nelson on social media. He was being held in the men’s cells where he witnessed the incident from.
He was being held for obstructing police officers in their line of duty.
”The cop then proceeded to the women cells, where the girl was being held. I peeped through the cell door and I could hear some movements and murmurs only for the cop to emerge 10 minutes later zipping his trousers,” he said.
Mr Njoroge, the witness says proceeded to the toilets, where he removed a used condom and threw it over the toilet roof, before cleaning himself.
