Nyando MP, Jared Okello has threatened to vacate his seat should his party leader, Raila Odinga not be sworn in as the People’s President before end of 2017.

The legislator noted that discharging his mandate has become a daunting task with Uhuru as President.

Speaking during Agao Patrobas’ funeral service, Okello maintained that the ruling regime had rigged out Odinga in the August 8 elections.

The legislator claimed he did not go to Parliament to sit in the opposition benches but to support ‘President’ Raila Odinga’s policies as he discharges his mandate from State House

”I can’t sit pretty in Parliament with people I know connived to snatch Odinga’s victory, this perennial electoral theft must come to an end for the country to move forward,” Okello said.

He insisted that the opposition leader will fight for electoral reforms.

He added that delivering electoral justice is the panacea to the ills bedeviling Kenya as a nation.

Odinga while attending the People’s assembly convention in Kilifi assured his supporters that he will be sworn in but did not give a definite date.

”Nobody will stop me from lifting the Bible,” the former Prime Minister said.

On the other hand, the Attorney General Githu Muigai has termed Odinga’s talks of being sworn in as “death wish.”
