Harambee starsThe Kenya football national team Harambee stars will play the Council for East and Central Africa Football Associations (CECAFA) senior challenge under the leadership of new a coach.

Football Kenya federation chairman Nick Mwendwa unveiled that Belgian Paul Put will spearhead the National team through the championship and will serve as head coach for two years

The Belgian coach is known for his fair shares of accolades and scandals. He was the Manager of the Gambia national team from 2008 to 2011. His most celebrated accolade would be that he led the Jordan football team in to the world cup in 2014.

Paul Put has faced various disciplinary actions withe the most controversial one  made him face a three year ban from the Royal Belgian Football association for being part of the Ye Zheyun match fixing scandal

He resigned from the Jordan team  in 2016 after a two week suspension.His prowess cannot be disputed as he was also shortlisted to manage the Rwanda National team.

He will now replace Stanley Okumbi who has now been relegated to assistant coach. Okumbi was appointed in March 2016 and his leadership has registered dismal results for the Harambee Stars.

The Harambee stars are set to participate in the CECAFA senior challenge cup that commence on December 3.
