Nigeria will start issuing visas to all Africans upon arrival, the African Union announced on Friday.

Kwesi Quartey, AU’s Deputy Chairman lauded the move saying it was a step ‘towards Africa’s integration agenda’ and free movement in the continent.

AU is championing for a ‘single African passport’ that will promote trade within the African countries.

The continental body has called for the abolishment of visa requirements for all African citizens in all African countries by 2018.

Ghana, Rwanda, Mauritius and the Seychelles issue visas on arrival to all African passport holders, Kwesi Quartey has said.

Heads of State were in 2016 issued with electronic African Union Passports.
