A deadly inferno broke out at Infil Academy in Komorock on Friday, May 26.
According to area residents, the fire broke out at dawn as the pupils prepared for classes. One child aged five died during the rescue operation.
The child is said to belong to the school’s matron who was part of the rescue team.
Area residents managed to save pupils from the raging fire before firefighters from the Nairobi City County Fire Department arrived.
Fire fighters had a tough time controlling the inferno that consumed the building.
The cause of the fire is yet to be established but authorities are suspecting an electrical failure.
