Innovation is lacking at NMG and that is making them very uneasy. So today NMG has decided to advertise for an Innovation General Manager’s position. That is a big step considering the fact that IF (Ian Fernandes) has not been great at delivering new ideas at NMG.

The company has been left in many instances with bruised nose after trying to contain competition through reactionary moves. You remember “Daily Metro” to contain “Nairobi Star”? Zuqka which is also a shoddy work from wannabe coder has been a total flop. It was a reactionary move to deal with Facebook, Forums and other social media sites which are snatching the youth from the traditional paper.

If you look on Daily Nation website, you don’t see a well laid out site. Everything is everywhere and there is no dedicated page or pages for stuff like Technology, Business, Sports, Lifestyle, Living and others. When NMG still don’t see technology as deserving a pullout on paper and special page on the website, then we have a problem with the visionaries in the company.

Imagine Taifa leo has no digital equvalent. Why? Maybe fear of the unknown.

We hope that the “Innovator” will do magic.

Hi There- i appreciate your comments and thanks for the candid feedback.
IF- Ian Fernandez has done a great job with Nation Digital . The GM innovations position is for the print division and I do accept that not all concepts have worked.
As for Zuqka- a complete revamp is underway and we will keep you posted on the same
On Nation Site- I agree with you and we are working on a new layout and focusing on newer content sections. You will soon find a site with more features.

    Regards

So when will we see revamp and remember that Feed links from Business Daily website are really not working and check them out. We have to post them manually. Innovation still lacks at NMG.
